2023 / 2024 Structured Maths Approach Resources

Structured Maths Approach was created and launched in 2023 reflecting the New Zealand Curriculum refresh that was confirmed and released in 2023. This was (at the time) the curriculum we were to use heading into the 2025 years and beyond and underpinned the scope and sequence of Structured Maths Approach. 

This year, the government announced the new curriculum which did have some changes from the released one in 2023. This meant rewriting and reworking SMA to align and match up to ensure a resource that is supporting learning outcomes for New Zealand teachers and students. 

The new '2025 curriculum aligned' version of Structured Maths Approach is now live and the preferred version of Structured Maths Approach for teachers to use. You can shop those here. 

This space on the website has all of the original Structured Maths Approach resources for you to download and use if you are using the original versions of the resource. These reflect the 2023/2024 curriculum refresh and original scope and sequence.
