New Entrant Pre Structured Maths Approach Assessment
This assessment has been designed for teachers with students that are new to school and using Structured Maths Approach; specifically designed to be used as a first weeks of school checkpoint to support beginning school assessment.
This could be used to support reporting and conversations around Maths with students new to school and in their first term.
This assessment can be done at the beginning of their schooling within the first 2-4 weeks of school; and then again at the end of their first term at school. This will give you baseline data and can be used prior to the SMAAFS. This will provide you with summative assessment data that can be used within your teaching practice, reporting or heading into using SMA.

This assessment does not make explicit links to curriculum refresh like SMAAFS as this is for new entrant students to see their knowledge beginning their SMA journey. This assessment is looking at concepts from chunk 1 of Year 0 to determine a starting point and baseline data.
