This SMA and NZ Curriculum progress descriptor guide is a document made to help teachers think about the breakdown of their assessments and aligning to the progress indicators for reporting. This is in no way a one stop shop, with MoE guidance clear that assessment should NOT be the sole source of evidence for reporting. Triangulation of data must be with observations, conversations, and learning tasks. 

This is specifically used with the SMAAFS checkpoint assessment and the year group 4 page assessments. 

For SMAAFS, it has a breakdown of a best estimate with the progress indicator and year group marks. 
For the year group 4 page assessments, these are done in three ways to help your reporting and thinking. These are broken down into individual chunk breakdowns, mid year overall (chunk 1 and 2 scores) and then end of year (chunk 1-4 scores) for you to use. 

This guide MUST be used alongside your other conversations, assessment, evidence, book work and other OTJ triangulation.
